I was born in 1968 in Iran. It is more than 20 years I am
working in Department of the Environment (DOE) of Iran and have Msc degree in Environmental
science, Biodiversity and habitats which relates to my job carrier, as well as another master
degree from Andalucia University, Spain, on Conservation and Management of the species in Trade.
Currently I am engaged in PhD degree in Science and Research Branch of Islamic Azad
University. It is for about 10 years I have the position of head for reptilian and amphibian
section in Biodiversity and Wildlife Bureau of DOE with much experience in different kinds of field
works. My main interest and focus is on sea turtle populations in the Persian Gulf and Oman sea
area as well as Mugger crocodiles and softshell turtles. Moreover I also conduct works on different
species of snakes, lizards and amphibians. Following my works as well as related to what intending
to do, I have been in contact with many scientists all around the world for possible cooperation
and getting advices.
My works and communications lead
to have chance to be member of some IUCN specialist groups:
- Crocodile specialist Group (CSG), as regional vice chair
- Marine turtle specialist group (MTSG)
- Tortoise and fresh water Turtles specialist group (TFTS)
- Viper Specialist Group
Having the experience of being as Management authority for CITES, I have the honor to be scientific
Authority for the CITES at the moment. I am also focal point for MOU for Marine turtle conservation
in Indian Ocean and southeast Asia too.
